Good News for Darnell Morrison

Darnell Morrison, who plays for the 15s Black side, has been awarded a full football scholarship to attend Guilford Gramma next year! Darnell has also been selected in the ALL Australian Indigenous side called the Flying Boomerangs to tour South Africa next year. The Club congratulates Darnell and we are all very proud of his achievements. Well done!
Darnell originally came from Swan Districts and was cleared to play with Ballajura. He also has 2 cousins playing for Ballajura as well. The reason he left Swans was he wanted to play with his friends he goes to school with and his cousins and wants to play for East Perth one day. Darnell’s family work very hard to give him every opportunity and they sometimes have trouble getting him to games and training so his cousins' parents and the friends he plays with pick him up and drop him off.
Nick named Magic, Darnell was selected for the under 15's WA STATE INDIGENOUS SQUAD assisting the team through to the Grand Final, Western Australia v South Australia.  In the Grand Final Darnell, playing at Full Back. had 22 possessions and was voted best on ground for the game. This is a fantastic achievement considering also that he is still only14 years of age playing up in the 15's competition.
Raised in Kalgoorlie his hobbies are Playstation, spending time with his family and, of course football. His coach Mike Pritchard says that he is a pleasure to coach, eager to learn, has a great sense of humour, enjoys being part of the team and is well liked by his team mates.  All of these, together with his football skills are the best ingredients to fulfil his ambition, to play for East Perth.
We at BJFC appreciate all the efforts by Darnell's friends and family to give him the chance to play with our club. All the best for the future Darnell!
